"There is more similarity in the marketing challenge of selling a precious painting by Degas and a frosted mug of root beer than you ever thought possible."

Me and my interior design friends and clients at the launch party for the Hampton Designer Showhouse.

For a long time I worked in the corporate world – either at a big PR agency or at the helm of my own firm. In 2003, I merged my firm with another agency and ultimately sold the company. However, after some time, I realized I truly missed the art and science of PR and marketing. So after some quality time in the park, at Mommy and Me classes and figuring out how to get the stroller from one side of town to the other, I hung out my shingle again as an independent consultant. I still believe in the big agency approach to marketing and PR challenges but I also love consulting with start-ups and entrepreneurs. I am also passionate about the art of new business development and look forward to working with PR agencies to attract new business to their firms, particularly in today’s challenging economic environment.

This portion of the site only highlights a few of the consulting projects I have been or am involved in. However, it demonstrates the range of clients I can and do represent. In fact, if you look at my work while I was at the helm of Amster-Young PR, you can see the wide-range of industries I have worked with. Specialties though, sometimes just emerge naturally and it appears my passion and work in the interior design and consumer product arenas have risen to the top in terms of my focus areas.
