"Writing gives you the illusion of control, and then you realize it's just an illusion, that people are going to bring their own stuff into it."

I’ve always been passionate about writing. I love the way words can work together to communicate thoughts, shed light on a variety of topics, simplify information and reveal unexpected truths. Clients have always hired me to do just that. Whether issuing a press release about a new product, organizing and communicating sales and marketing strategies or writing an op-ed piece on behalf of a CEO, I love the written word. In 2004 I began to write for magazines and newspapers. First and foremost is my passion for first person, non-fiction essay writing. Consider what Lauren Slater, Editor of The Best American Essays says about this genre:

Essay writing is not about facts, although the essay may contain facts. Essay writing is about transcribing the often convoluted process of thought, leaving your own brand of breadcrumbs in the forest so that those who want to can find their way to your door.

My regular column in thehamptons.com provides me with an opportunity to share my rants and raves, thoughts and opinions and insights with others. I started writing for the site in 2007. I also love interviewing people from all walks of life -- entrepreneurs, athletes, designers, authors and so on. Examples of these profiles can be found in the Hampton Jitney section of this site. I still continue to look for great people to profile. Dan’s Paper’s, the Hamptons most widely-read newspaper, features some of my articles about antiques, home/décor and The 2008 Hampton Designer Showhouse.
